Laundry Problems
Something that can often go overlooked for a week or two at a time is laundry. Its easy to forget that a majority of americans renting do not have access to a clean or reliable on site washer and dryer. Running out of just socks when you're getting ready for work can drive anyone insane, and can ruin a whole day from canceling plans to wearing dirty laundry.
A solid place to start is to get some type of mesh or fabric laundry bag, and make sure to get two! If you are active like I am, you can leave sweat and other residues inside the dirty bag. Having two bags let's you have a clean bag to take clothes home from the laundromat from.
Laundromats can be expensive these days, you don't want to spend more than 5 or 6 bucks for a full load of laundry. That means right out of the gate, cut out buying any type of name brand or any type of drying sheets and detergent from the laundromat itself.
For actual detergent, almost everyone overuses and puts too much actual cleaner in than is needed. Liquid laundry soap is concentrated, and only a small amount is needed for lightly used clothes. Personally, I just buy the offbrand pods and they work for about everything I throw them in with. Plus they're half the cost of name brand, and a lot of stores have sales to drop the price even further. I honestly prefer krogers as they still support our communities alright, check out the brand I use.
Remember to always be safe and use well reviewed laundromats that have staff on duty if available. They are almost always cleaner, friendlier, and a more relaxing experience than spring up shops that only has maintenence numbers posted instead of friendly faces.
