Going out and enjoying nature
A fun way to spend the day without spending your wallet is to relax and enjoy nature. You can't always be focused on the next move or working 24/7, you'll burn out. Better to take some evenings or mornings to yourself and soak up some sun.
A lot of people overpack when going out, especially snacks. Making sure to pick the right snacks while on the run is imperative. Trail mix, water, and a sandwich gets me through a few hours of walking with gear on.
Another thing tend to overdo is the gear. Picking the right bag for the trip will save you a lot of hassle and wasted space, which means wasted weight. A small 10-20 litre bag will do for most daytrips. When you start moving up into backpacking and camping out is when the big ol 80 litre bags will do you well.
Shoes not even on a hike, but in general will make or break you. Picking the right trail shoe, hiking boots, or just runners for the day will make sure your feet stay comfortable. I wear nice boots all day for that protection and cushion and I don't have any complaints!
Just remember to go out, see a park, walk a nature trail, take care of yourself. It's all that you can do these days to survive the waves.
